Concern About the Present and the Future

Providing food for the entire world population is a challenge of the globalized economy in a society that we are experiencing today.

At Chapadão dos Sonhos, we are concerned with taking care of our future and our planet. In search of meeting the production needs of the next generations and the maintenance of the terrestrial ecosystem, we are gradually joining the best cultivation practices. We want to contribute to the continuity of human life in ideal conditions and guarantee the perpetuity of the world at its best. For this, we intensified the use of biological products in our crops, which promote a better balance in the environment and considerably reduces the use of products of chemical origin. There is a large range of biological producs already in use and the results are increasingly attractive.

Almost fertilizers we use comes from the composting process, in which natural ingredients are processed by microorganisms that deliver nutrients in their best form to plants. We also use precision agriculture to promote better uniformity of cultivated areas, making occasional corrections and increasing production averages annually.

Another important technique in the process is crop rotation, which generates biological and economic stability on the farm.

We have, in a continuous area, all the environmental requirements fulfilled, such as legal reserve, protected areas of permanent preservation and the correct management of rainwater.

With practices like these, in addition to benefiting the production system and the environment at the same time, we also contribute to local development, consuming and producing inputs in the region's commerce and industries.

Soja Plus is a farmer-oriented continuous improvement programme, launched in 2011, which provides soy farmers assistance with implementing Brazilian environmental and social legislation as well as improve agricultural practices. Training, workshops and technical assistance are given as part of the programme to address identified sustainability challenges.
Soja Plus does not exclude farmers on an individual level and only shares aggregated data that respects the privacy of participating farmers.
Soja Plus is considered to be an important tool that supports the full implementation of the Forest Code and its two core instruments; the CAR (Rural Environmental Registry) and the PRA (Environmental Regularization Program).
Currently, 1.084 soy farmers participate in the program, mainly from Mato Grosso. Soja Plus recently expanded its activities to Mato Grosso do Sul, Minas Gerais and Bahia.

The Produzindo Certo is a platform where the farmers receive technical assistance and a report about their socio-environmental and productive performance which indicates the main points for improvement. Agrobusiness and farmers also have a continuous tracking tool to measure evolution and set a digital database that gathers farm diagnoses, generates updated performance reports and connects to georeferenced systems to monitor critical risks such as deforestation and embargoes.
